Facts and Benefits

Introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962, a Light Emitting Diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source. When an LED is switched on, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons resulting in electroluminescence (light).

AuzLED lighting products are all 240 volt and:

*Do not have LED power sources(12volt transformers) that generate electronic interference and heat.

*Do not have high powered diodes that require heat-sinks which generate additional heat.

*
Operate at approximately 31degrees centigrade which is well under other LED, fluorescent, halogen and incandescent lights. This minimizes the possibility of insulation and building material fires as well as reducing air conditioner cooling costs.

*
Are shatterproof and shock resistant and illuminate instantly, unlike fluorescent lights which also contain environmental and health unfriendly mercury.

*
Reduce electricity costs as they consume approximately 30 times less power than a halogen counterpart.

*Have a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours compared to other standard of 5000 hours reducing replacement and maintenance cost.
